Residents from all across West Virginia joined activists, religious leaders, legislators, and other elected officials at the State Capitol in Charleston on Wednesday for Black Policy Day. A rally in support of Del. Danielle Walker-sponsored HB 2092 – “The Crown Act” – was also held.
The Crown Act, which seeks to prohibit “discrimination based on certain hair textures and hairstyles,” has been pending in the House Committee on Government Organization since its introduction on Jan. 11.
