Monroe County JROTC to conduct flag retirement ceremony

The James Monroe High School/Monroe County Technical Center (JMHS/MCTC) Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) Battalion will conduct a flag retirement for worn, tattered, or faded U.S. flags on 16 May at 5:30 PM at the Monroe County Board of Education offices in Union. American Legion Posts 100 and 145 will be present and provide support to this effort. Anyone desiring to have a flag retired in a respectful and honorable way may bring them to the JROTC room at James Monroe High School or the drop box in the county courthouse between now and 15 May.
