Crystal Good

Crystal Good is West Virginia, through and through. After living briefly in the cultural-meccas that are New York and Los Angeles, the St. Albans-native returned to the Mountain State to pursue her vision of creating West Virginia’s only newspaper built around its non-white community.

In 2021, that vision became a reality, when Crystal published the first issue of “Black By God, the West Virginian.” Nearly two years later, Crystal’s vision has become a staple of the West Virginia media landscape. However now, Crystal and her team at Black By God, the West Virginian compliment their print-editions with a robust website

For her dedication to West Virginian journalism, and for tireless advocacy of equality in the Mountain State, RealWV is proud to name Crystal Good as the certified Real West Virginian of the Week.
