While the sky threatened and the rain spat off and on for most of the afternoon, the sun prevailed on day two of the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta.

In a day that was all about parades and athletic entertainment, Saturday featured the Firecracker 5K, Weiner Dog races, and both the Fire and Funeral parades. However, it was the warriors of professional wrestling who dominated the afternoon.

In a free show at City Center, Troy Parker was crowned the first ever Regatta Pro Wrestling Champion. The card also featured West Virginia natives Sydney Powers and Nurse Mika go head to head, as well as Impact star Heath go one-on-one with AEW star Cole Karter.

Additional matches included Chance Prophet versus Josh Bishop, Jason Kincaid versus Marino Tenglia, Paparazzi versus Shane Storm, and tag team action between the teams of DD Trash and Working Class.

Across town at GoMart Ballpark, the Charleston Dirty Birds got in on the Sternwheel Regatta fun as well. For one day only, the Dirty Birds played as the “Charleston Wheelers” when they took on the Lancaster Barnstormers.

After a performance from Charleston’s own Redline Band, Flo Rida brought day two of the Regatta to a close.

Sunday features a performance by legendary music-mega stars, Kool & The Gang, on the Moses Auto Group stage at 8 p.m. The musical portion of the evening will begin with Santa Cruz performing at 6:30.
