Get your fall fix at The Hanna Farmstead

By Stephen Baldwin, RealWV

Alex and Jade Hanna took a leap of faith a couple years ago, opening a new agritourism business just outside Lewisburg, WV.

The young couple grew up farming and saw an opportunity to welcome visitors to their farm each fall. That’s when The Hanna Farmstead was born—a small farm off Fairview Road which offered hayrides, a pumpkin patch, and a corn maze.

But the farm was leased. They wanted to own.

And it was smaller than they’d like. They had big dreams.

“God made the opportunity to move sooner than we ever expected,” says Jade. “This gives us the ability to grow and expand.”

The farm is open Friday-Sunday through October 29.

Visitors can expect all the amenities they’ve grown to love at the new location…and so much more. Hayrides, two corn mazes, games for kids, games for adults, slides, goats, wildflowers, and did I mention food?

Staples like burgers, hot dogs, & chicken tenders are available as sustenance so you can then enjoy attractions like The Big Banana Bomb—a deep fried banana coated in pumpkin funnel cake batter drizzled with caramel and maple.

“We are very excited to be in Monroe County,” says Alex, “and the community has been incredibly welcoming.”

To get there, don’t trust your phone. The online maps often route folks the wrong way. They are officially located on at 1211 Hillsdale Road in Gap Mills. However, they are much closer to Pickaway than Gap Mills.

From Union: Travel 219 North towards Pickaway for 3.5 Miles and turn right onto Hillsdale Rd. In 1.2 miles turn left into the parking lot.

From Downtown Lewisburg: Travel Route 60 towards Caldwell for 3.4 miles and turn right onto Monroe Draft Rd. In 5,8 miles turn left Into Seneca Trail S. Travel Seneca Trail S (219 south) for 7.4 miles and then turn left onto Hillsdale Rd. In 1.2 miles turn left into the parking lot.

All guests pay an entry fee, which may either be pre-purchased online or purchased onsite. The entry fee covers all activities except paintball, which is an added cost. Over 60 varieties of pumpkins are available for sale by weight, starting at $1.
