Renowned pianist Barbara Nissman to perform at Marshall University

HUNTINGTON, W.Va – Marshall University is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated performance of world-famous pianist Barbara Nissman, set to take place on October 19, 2023, at the Smith Recital Hall on Marshall’s campus at 7:30pm.  Renowned for her extraordinary talent and profound interpretations, Nissman’s recital promises to be an unforgettable evening.  The program titled “Music to Love” combines great music with informal chat as Nissman shares her concert favorites and invites us into the world of her composer ”friends.”

Barbara Nissman, a name synonymous with brilliance in the world of classical piano, has captivated audiences worldwide with her virtuosity and passion. With an enormous catalog of classical music, Nissman has established herself as one of the most versatile and accomplished pianists of our time. Her collaborations with the legendary Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera have been hailed as groundbreaking, showcasing her deep understanding and mastery of his complex compositions.

Nissman’s recordings have become definitive interpretations of the works of iconic composers such as Beethoven, Liszt, Prokofiev, and Rachmaninov. Her ability to breathe life into these timeless compositions has earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated following of music enthusiasts around the globe.
