2024 Academic showdown regional qualifying events scheduled

The Academic Showdown is gearing up for the 2024 season, and regional qualifying events have been scheduled. The winners of each regional qualifier will move on to compete in the state finals this spring in Charleston.

The Academic Showdown is a head-to-head “Quiz Bowl” style competition between high schoolers in grades nine through 12. The competition is made possible through a partnership between the West Virginia Department of Education, Higher Education Policy Commission, Department of Arts, Culture and History, and West Virginia Public Broadcasting. 

There will be seven regional qualifying events, scheduled as follows:
