Mavericks’ magical season comes to an end with loss to defending State Champs Cameron High School

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – After earning their way into the state tournament for the first time in two decades, and a hard fought, one-point victory in the first round, James Monroe’s generational-season came to an end on Friday at the hands of the defending Division A State Champions. With the Mavericks falling in Charleston 43 to 75, Cameron High School heads to the finals for the third consecutive year.

James Monroe will call it a season with a record of 17 wins, and nine losses. The team’s leading scorers Friday were Meadows with 22 points, Boroski with 11 points, Dunlap with eight points, and freshman Jordan Roberts with two points.

Top rebounders on the day were Mya and Ava Dunlap, with nine and five respectively. Boroski also contributed with five, while Meadows grabbed four. Abigail Mathis and Aleigha Hill had three apiece, Aleigha Hopkins had two, and Rileigh Jackson had one.
