Greenbrier County mourns the passing of Commissioner Blaine Phillips

RealWV Staff,

LEWISBURG, W.Va. – After serving the residents of Greenbrier County for just over a year, Commissioner Blaine Phillips has passed away.

On Thursday, Greenbrier County Commission President Tammy Tincher and Commissioner Lowell Rose issued the following statement:

“It is with great sadness that the Greenbrier County Commission announces the unexpected passing of Commissioner Blaine Phillips. Commissioner Phillips Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Before his election as a County Commissioner, Blaine had long committed himself to serving the citizens of Greenbrier County. Upon his election, he spent a great deal of time training and learning the intricacies of his office to be the best public servant possible. Blaine’s dedication to his family and business gave him the perfect public servant’s heart.

Blaine was our friend and a true Greenbrier Countian, and although we will remember his service and honor his dedication, his absence will be profoundly felt by his community. Our hearts and prayers are with Commissioner Phillips’ family and friends as we mourn with them in their time of sorrow. Thank you for your friendship and service, Blaine.

  • Commissioner Tammy Tincher and Lowell Rose”

RealWV will provide updates regarding any potential commission appointments as additional information is made available.
