Marshall tennis welcomes JMU Saturday for Senior Day

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Tennis team (17-7, 8-2 Sun Belt) prepares for its final match of the regular season set for Saturday at 10 a.m. against the James Madison Dukes (8-11, 4-5 Sun Belt) in Huntington.

PRE-MATCH NOTES

  • The Herd is coming off a 4-3 win over App State last weekend.
  • Emma Vanderheyden sealed the contest with a straight set win at number two singles to defeat the Mountaineers.
  • Joksovic has won her last eight decisions at number three singles and has a 15-7 record this spring and has 64 victories in her Marshall career (41 singles and 23 doubles).
  • Gabrielle Clairotte has 84 total victories during her time in Huntington, 56 doubles wins and 28 in singles, including 8-5 at number three doubles this spring.
  • Rieke Gillar has registered 41 doubles victories to go with 37 singles wins during her time with the Green and White. The native of Germany has 13 singles wins this spring across numbers four through six singles.

SCOUTING JMU                           

  • The Dukes have fallen in their last four matches after dropping a tightly contested contest last Saturday, 4-3, to Georgia Southern.
  • Daria Munteanu is 12-5 in matches at numbers one and two singles this spring.
