Lynn Massie

Lynn Massie is a friend to everyone she meets, and she meets just about everyone. She and her family own and operate Jim’s Drive-In, a famous local spot in Lewisburg that has been featured on popular shows like The Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives.” Her mom, Kathy, does all the cooking, while Lynn and her sister, Elizabeth, take care of customers.

While they’re known for their food, they are beloved for their hearts. Lynn and her family work hard every year to raise money for cancer research. Anytime a community member is in need, they are always among the first to show up offering help.

Over the past year, Lynn herself has faced serious medical issues, including multiple eye surgeries. But nothing can keep Lynn down.

For the past two months, the concession stand at Central Greenbrier Little League has been carefully led by Adam and Jill Long…and Lynn Massie’s smiling face is there most every day serving kids and families alongside them.

A parent worked a shift with her last week and asked Lynn why she volunteers at the baseball field concession stand so often?

“I do it for the kids,” she said, with a smile.

For always being the first one to step forward and help the community in a time of need, and for her volunteer efforts at the Central Greenbrier Little League concession stand this season, we are proud to name Lynn Massie as the certified Real West Virginian of the Week.
