SSAC accepting host city proposals for State Softball and Wrestling Championship Tournaments

The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission (WVSSAC) is currently accepting proposals to host the 2025, 2026, and 2027 high school wrestling and softball state championship tournaments.

The state softball tournament will be held during the 47th week of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) standardized calendar, while the state wrestling tournament will be held during the 35th week. The specific dates of both tournaments will be determined this coming August.

All proposals will remain sealed until reviewed by the WVSSAC Board of Directors at their regular meeting. Representatives of bidders will be allotted time to present their proposals to the board, however no changes or additions may be made after bid submission. The Board of Directors will announce site selection after voting on submitted bids. 

Each proposal will be approved for a three-year year period with a one-year additional option if all parties involved agree. The agreement for the fourth year will be decided at the conclusion of the third year of the original agreement. 

Sealed proposals must include 15 copies of the bid, and must be postmarked by June 27, 2024.
