Sophia’s first mac and cheese cookoff coming to Raleigh County September 14

SOPHIA, W.Va. – Kentucky-based recovery-support network Hope in the Mountains will be bringing the area’s first mac-and-cheese festival, “Mountains of Mac,” to Sophia, on Saturday, Sept. 14. With tastings, live music and entertainment, food trucks, and activities for the kids, “Mountains of Mac” is sure to have something to satisfy the cravings of the entire family.

The event will be held on Main Street in Sophia, from 4 – 7 p.m. General admission tickets will be available for purchase on Wednesday, September 11. For instructions on entering the mac-and-cheese cook-off, visit hopeinthemountains.org.

The “Mountains of Mac” mac-and-cheese cook-off and festival have been made possible through the sponsorship of the town of Sophia, Pioneer Community Bank, Alpha Records Management, ARH, China One Chinese Restaurant, The Register-Herald, and McDonalds of Raleigh County.
