In honor of West Virginia’s 161st birthday, First Lady Cathy Justice hosted a “Hot Dog Sauce” competition, with the winner, Paige Tony of Calhoun County, being announced at last month’s West Virginia Day celebration.
According to Justice, Tony’s recipe was unanimously selected as the contest’s winner.
“Our Grand Champion winner is from a band boosters organization,” Justice said, during the celebration. “She makes all the hot dogs for the children in the band, and it’s just a great, great recipe.”
Tony’s championship-winning sauce is aptly named “Calhoun Band Booster.”
