Held each year on the third Saturday in October, BASE (buildings, antennas, spans, and cliffs) jumpers from around the world gather at New River Gorge National Park and Preserve to leap from the historic bridge, one of West Virginia’s most picturesque locations.
The bridge measures 876 feet from the road to the bottom of the gorge. BASE jumpers leap to the bottom in this full day event and get a taste of what makes West Virginia, Wild and Wonderful.
