CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Day one of the 2024 West Virginia State High School Volleyball Championship Tournament is in the books, and for the moment, all eye are on Class AA.
The number five seed Buffalo edged passed James Monroe 3 – 2 to get things started Tuesday morning, before top seed Oak Glen blanked South Harrison 3 – 0. Number two seed Philip Barbour then did the same to Wyoming East in the first game of the afternoon session, before number six seed Charleston Catholic bested Williamston by a much closer final score of 3 – 2.

After their second victories of the day of Tuesday, the stage is now set for Thursday morning’s Class AA final between the number one and two seeds, Oak Glen and Phillip Barbour.
The Class A Championship Tournament has been postponed indefinitely due to pending litigation surrounding Tyler County’s exclusion from the tournament.
RealWV will provide continual updates throughout the duration of the tournament.
