Lewisburg Rotary hosting Toga Party on Saturday night
By RealWV staff,
The leadership of Lewisburg Rotary, a civic group with a long history of community service in the Greenbrier Valley, is trying something new this weekend. They want the community to forget everything they know about Rotary, because “this isn’t your old regular meeting,” says President Jill McIntyre. “It’s time to channel your inner Bluto and party Animal House style at our Toga Costume Party!

With membership in the professional group declining, McIntyre committed to holding a fundraiser with the hope of reinvigorating the club during her tenure as president.
“We held a visioning session about the types of events that might appeal to the public, particularly potential new members,” McIntyre said. “We decided that a toga party in February sounded accessible to many and would not compete with other long-standing events in the Greenbrier Valley.”
The toga party is Saturday, February 15, from 7-10pm at the historic Lewis Theatre in downtown Lewisburg on Court Street.
Togas are highly recommended, but not required. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Attendees can expect games, karaoke, dancing, and light hors d’oeuvres. A full cash bar is available, and two drinks are included per ticket.
“Whether you’re a singing star or a dancing queen, this party has something for everyone,” promises McIntyre.
