Officials with Vandalia Health cut the ribbon on Tuesday for a new pharmacy inside Greenbrier Valley Medical Center (GVMC). Vandalia operates all Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) hospitals under a nonprofit umbrella across the state.
“It’s open to everyone,” explains Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Becky Harless says. “We’re very excited to open the Vandalia Health Pharmacy at GVMC.”

Hospital guests and members of the community alike will be served by the new pharmacy.
“We will have a program that’s called ‘Meds to Beds,’ which is when you are discharged from the hospital, maybe it’s on a weekend or an evening and your pharmacy is not open, we will be able to fill your prescriptions and bring them to your bedside that you can take home,” says Harless. “There is a mail order component, so we will be able to mail your prescriptions to your home.”

Because Vandalia is a nonprofit, Harless says they are able to participate in the national 340B program and offer lower-costs pharmaceuticals at times. The 340B program, administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), is available to certain health care providers and attempts to fill gaps in health care by offering additional drugs at lower prices for patients.
“We’re very excited to be able to to offer these services in conjunction with the growth we’re doing at the hospital at GVMC,” Harless concluded.
Vandalia Health Pharmacy is located at 1320 Maplewood Avenue in Ronceverte, WV.
