Disney’s ‘Descendants: The Musical’ brings villainous Fun to the Alban Arts Center
PRESS RELEASE:
ST. ALBANS, W.Va. – The Alban Arts Center is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of Disney’s Descendants: The Musical, running September 19th – 28th, based on the wildly popular Disney Channel Original Movies. With a high-energy score, vibrant choreography, and a cast of beloved (and wicked!) characters, this musical promises a thrilling theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.

Adapted from the hit film series, Descendants: The Musical follows the teenage children of famous Disney villains—Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos—as they navigate the pressures of adolescence, friendship, and choosing their own destiny at Auradon Prep. Will they follow in their parents’ villainous footsteps, or forge a new path toward redemption?

The production features a talented local cast of students and adults, with dazzling costumes that bring the magical world of Auradon and the Isle of the Lost to life on the Alban stage. With catchy songs like “Rotten to the Core” and “Ways to Be Wicked,” fans of the movies and newcomers alike will be singing along and cheering for their favorite characters.
“Descendants is more than just a fun, flashy musical—it’s a story about identity, friendship, and the power to choose who you want to be,” said Director Samantha Jenkins. “We can’t wait for the community to experience this show!”
