Raleigh Solar permit extended
PRESS RELEASE:
CHARLESTON – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia has extended by four years commencement and completion dates for Raleigh Solar I, LLC.
A siting certificate for the 90-megawatt solar generating project was originally granted in 2020. The permit said work was to begin by 2025 and be completed by 2030, but the work did not commence.
Raleigh Solar petitioned the Commission to reopen the case on July 25, citing changed market condition, the COVID-19 pandemic, and other reasons why it could not meet the original deadlines.
PSC legal staff did not oppose the proposal and said such modifications are “not uncommon.”
The Commission said in an order issued Tuesday that construction must begin by October 5, 2029, with completion by October 5, 2034.
