Naloxone to be distributed during Save a Life 2025 event

By RealWV staff

Today is Save a Life Day 2025.

Led by the Charleston-based SOAR WV, Save a Life Day began in 2020 in Kanawha and Putnam counties as a way to distribute naloxone, a medication used to reverse an opioid overdose, free of charge to those in our communities.

Today, according to information found on the SOAR WV website, that small movement has grown to include free naloxone giveaways in every state in the nation.

But, it’s not just naloxone that is given for free today. Many Save a Life Day sites also distribute care kits and resources to help those who have been affected by the opioid epidemic.
