37th annual ‘St. Albans Festival of Lights’ now open

PRESS RELEASE:

Thirty years ago, a simple sign stood at the edge of St. Albans City Park and did something quiet, ter extraordinary – it welcomed people into a story of making cherished holiday memories.

Year after year – through new bulbs, new displays, and changing seasons – that welcome kept meeting families at the gate. It met first dates and new babies. It met grandparents with thermoses and kids in pajamas. It met neighbors who needed a gentle reason to smile. It met strangers who left feeling a little less like strangers – from right here in St. Albans to visitors from across the country, even as far away as Alaska.

Every season, we’ve hoped to share the same thing: a bit of light, a breath of warmth, the sense that being here together matters.

This year, the lights have come on again. The road winds the way it always has. Someone points out the same favorite scene; someone else sees it for the first time. And with newly added displays, many more memories begin.

Thank you for letting this place be part of your cherished holiday moments – for the laughter, the quiet, and all the miles between. We’re grateful for every welcome this sign has offered, and for every story you’ve carried home from under the St. Albans Festival of Lights.

We look forward to seeing you this season.
