Fairmont State seeded #3 in NCAA Division II tourney regional

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The 10th-ranked Fairmont State University men’s basketball team was selected as the three seed in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. This year’s Atlantic Regional is hosted by Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania at the Highmark Events Center.

This year’s trip to the NCAA Tournament marks the sixth in the seven years that head coach Tim Koenig has been in charge of the program. Entering with a record of 26-5, the Falcons will face No. 6 Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the first round. The Crimson Hawks enter the contest with a record of 22-7 and is coming off a PSAC Semifinal loss to Gannon, 99-85.

The two squads will open the tournament on Saturday, March 14 with a 12:00 p.m. game time. Fans will be able to follow the game via Live Stats, Live Video, or listen to the game on SKY 106.5.

Fans that plan to make the trip to Erie, Pa. can purchase tickets HERE. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, March 10 at 12:00 p.m. Tickets purchased for Saturday’s game will grant admission to all four quarterfinals games. Separate tickets must per purchased for Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday game days. Tickets are valid only for the date purchased.
