Democratic Women’s Club hosts candidate forum in Lewisburg

Lewisburg, WV — Tuesday, March 24th, the Greenbrier County Democratic Women’s Club hosted a “Meet the Candidates” event at the Clingman Center. Over 70 people were in attendance to hear from some of the Democratic Primary candidates.

Candidates included Kent Gilkerson, 10th State Senate District, Brit Aguirre, 1st Congressional District, Vince George, 1st Congressional District, Sarah Morris, House of Delegates 47, Mark Phipps, House of Delegates 47, Jourdan Deitz, House of Delegates 48 and Jennifer Gilkerson, House of Delegates 40.

Each candidate gave a short introduction and answered questions from the audience. Topics discussed included protecting public schools, economic development to keep people in the State, solving the drinking water problem, access to healthcare and addressing the high cost of energy. Candidates urged everyone to check their voter registration and to encourage all Democrats and Independents to vote on or before May 12th. Early voting starts April 29th.
