WVAWC and the Lincoln County Commission jointly petitioned the Commission on July 28 to approve the acquisition of the troubled smaller utility by West Virginia-American for $12.9 million.
The district provides service to 2,532 customers primarily in Lincoln County, but with coverage in areas of Kanawha and Boone counties. The joint petition said the PSD “faces considerable cost and expense to continue operating the assets.” The county commission has decided it is in the public’s best interest to dissolve the district and convey the assets to WVAWC.
