Baseball lands four on All-MEC, including freshman of the year

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – On the eve of the Mountain East Conference Baseball Championship, the MEC announced Tuesday afternoon its 2026 all-conference team and individual postseason honors. 

Fairmont State had four members named on the various All-MEC teams: Reilly Bubb (First Team), Bryont Green (Second Team), Micah Canterbury (Second Team), and Cameron Moore (Honorable Mention). Leading the way for the Falcons was Green as he was also named the MEC Freshman of the Year. Green, a freshman from Thurmont, Maryland, was 8th in the league in hitting with a .350 batting average. He also had 62 hits this season for the Falcons, along with six home runs and 50 RBIs.

Representing the Falcons on the First Team, Bubb finished the year with a .333 average with 34 RBI, 43 runs, five home runs and was 23-24 in stolen base attempts. On the Second Team, Canterbury ended with a 6-4 record on the mound with a 4.45 ERA, seven complete games and 63 strikeouts.

On the Honorable Mention list, Moore hit for .329 as he drove in 32 runs, scored another 38 times and finished tied for first on the team with six home runs.
