WV Music Hall of Fame to host special screening of ‘Young@Heart’ as part the ‘Glotfelty Film Series’
PRESS RELEASE:
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – As part of its ongoing 20th anniversary celebration, the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame (WVMHoF) presents the Glotfelty Film Series: a collection of music-based films intended to engage, educate, and entertain audiences.
The series will begin on Sunday, March 2, with a special screening of “Young@Heart,” an award-winning documentary about a unique chorus made up of 80-plus-year-old performers. From the songs of Sonic Youth and Talking Heads, to James Brown and Alan Toussaint, the film proves that the magic and power of music is ageless.

“Young@Heart” will be shown at the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame’s Museum of Music in Charleston, on Sunday, March 2. The screening will begin at 2 p.m., and attendance to the screening is on a “pay what you can” basis.
Bob Cilman, the founder and director of the chorus, expertly arranges a wide and unexpected variety of songs for a spirited, talented, and wonderful group of octogenarians. Cilman will be in attendance during the film’s Charleton screening, where he will serve as the evening’s host, and take questions at the end. In addition to Cilman, Raleigh County-native John Rinehart, a member of the chorus who will be celebrating his 89th birthday in 2025, will deliver a very special musical performance.
The Glotfelty Film Series will bring its second film to Lewisburg’s Lewis Theatre, on Friday, March 28, for a special screening of “The Devil and Daniel Johnston,” a documentary about the troubled life of the titular inductee of the WVMHoF class of 2025. The screening will begin at 7 p.m., and admission is $15. The series will return to the Museum of Music in Charleston on Saturday, March 29, for another 7 p.m. screening of the film. Admission to the Charleston screening of “The Devil and Daniel Johnston” will be “pay what you can” as well.
