Vandalia Health CAMC Cancer Center to celebrate 10th anniversary Tuesday
PRESS RELEASE:
Please join us as we commemorate this milestone event for our region and celebrate the power of the community and all those who came together to make the Vandalia Health CAMC Cancer Center a reality. Light pours into the building from every angle and highlight each architectural curve. From the moment you enter the soaring lobby, you’ll realize that the CAMC Cancer Center was thoughtfully designed to inspire hope – and perfectly outfitted to facilitate healing.
Many adult cancer and cancer-related services are served by the center including radiation oncology, medical oncology, oncological surgery, clinical trials and an infusion center. The CAMC Breast Center is located on the third floor of the new center.
The center also features dozens of exam and ambulatory infusion rooms, a café, boutique, pharmacy, outdoor terrace, healing garden and other services and amenities for patients and their families.
You are invited to join us Sept. 23, for an open house from noon – 5 p.m. at the CAMC Cancer Center (3415 MacCorkle Avenue, SE.). Formal remarks and a short ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Today, the CAMC Cancer Center cares for more patients than any other center in West Virginia.
The CAMC Cancer Center provides comprehensive care from the latest, most advanced technology to support services for patients and their loved ones through their entire cancer journey.
Treatment areas are equipped with multiple chairs to allow communal therapy sessions as well as space for family and friends to sit privately with patients during therapy. A second-floor outdoor terrace allows patients to receive therapy while enjoying the sun or soothing breezes.
The CAMC Cancer Center is for adult medical oncology and hematology care. The facility also houses CAMC Breast Center, CAMC Gynecology Oncology, CAMC Radiation Oncology and genetic testing and counseling.
The CAMC Cancer Center features many services conveniently located under one roof. This includes a patient resource room, where the CAMC CARE Team, comprised of social workers, psychologist, dieticians, financial navigators, patient navigators and pastoral care are provided to those battling their disease. It also features a boutique, that is staffed by a licensed cosmetologist that offers wigs, hair care, manicures, pedicures, clothing, and other cancer related products.
Also, at the CAMC Cancer Center, physicians help educate physician residents. Trainees also work with CAMC Cancer Center staff on research projects leading to academic presentations/publications integral to their training requirements. An oncology fellowship program started in 2024 training the next generation of care givers for our community at CAMC.
