Marshall swimming & diving sweep two meets

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving Team sweep its tri-meet on Saturday in the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium defeating Bowling Green 136-105 and Duquesne 128-113.

“Really pleased with how we competed starting the new year. Bowling Green and Duquesne are well coached and we had some great performances standing up against both teams. This time of year it is more about a stringing together well executed races. This weekend gave us good information as we head into our final preparation before conference next Saturday.”” Herd Swimming and Diving Head Coach Ian Walsh said.

The Herd captured six wins across the 13 events in Huntington. Elyse Wood continued her momentum from Friday into Saturday with victories in 50 and 100 Freestyle.

Isabelle Cameron joined Abby AdamsLauren McNamara and Karley Wolfgram to begin the meet with a victory in the 200 Medley Relay before the freshman also captured a win in the 100 Breaststroke to conclude the individual events.

To start the individual events, Maddie Emment won the 200 Freestyle with Molly Warner coming out victorious in the 200 IM.

In diving, Ally Humbert took eighth on the 1m boards with a ninth-place finish in 3m.

“We look forward to celebrating Tatum (Robinson) and Mia (McBride) and honoring them against Toledo next weekend.”
