RONCEVERTE, WV — For the last three years, the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church has been hosting free homemade meals monthly for anyone in the community. This weekend, they are moving to Sundays.

“We are switching to Sunday in response to community feedback,” said church officer Mark Gillespie. “We will serve a homemade meal on the 4th Sunday of each month to anyone in the community who would like one.”

Mark and Lee Gillespie prepare the food and then members of the church serve it. Guests are welcome to dine-in at the church beginning at 12:15pm (after their normal Sunday morning worship service). Carryout and delivery orders will then be served from 1-2pm.

“We just want to be sure and get the word out about this change so everyone knows the new day,” Gillespie said.

This month’s meal will be served on Sunday, March 22. It includes ham, sweet potato casserole, corn, roll, and a cupcake. The meals are served at no charge, but donations are accepted for those who wish to contribute. The church funds the meals thanks to grants and gifts from local businesses, churches, and individuals.

Ronceverte Presbyterian Church is located at 261 Locust Street. Guests are invited to join the meal via the door on Greenbrier Avenue.
