Workers United President Lynne Fox, Secretary-Treasurer Edgar Romney and Organizing Director Richard Minter addressed the Delegates and welcomed their new leaders. The Delegates celebrated new contracts delivering millions of dollars from employers into the hands of thousands of Members, alongside the first organizing and growth wins in years, welcoming new members across a number of sectors.
Newly elected Mid-Atlantic Regional Director Peter Bostic said, “Across this country, workers are finding their voices again by organizing and standing together. They are demanding respect. Our responsibility is to meet that moment. I am reminded of the words of civil rights leader A. Philip Randolph who said: ‘Salvation for a race, nation or class must come from within. Freedom is never granted; it is won. Justice is never given; it is exacted.’”
