‘Concrete Jungle’ exhibit set to open at LosAngled Art Gallery in Charleston
PRESS RELEASE:
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – LosAngled is excited to present its first group show “Concrete Jungle” opening November 15, 2024. Artists including Anthony Peyton Young, Cory Sadd, Jason Adams, Shelby Person, Chris Gosses, Lesa Smith, and Jonathan Angle are putting together collections that will highlight the city vibes of the new art gallery in Charleston, West Virginia, which opened on October 5, 2024. Jonathan Angle, the gallery owner and artist, wants for the gallery to offer local and emerging artists a place where they can show their work while bringing modern art to the Mountain State capitol.
“It’s great to be back in Charleston and have the opportunity to provide a unique space for local and national artists to show their work in a modern gallery unlike any other space in Charleston,” says Angle. “The upcoming show, ‘Concrete Jungle’ is a nod to our opening night and how guests mentioned that they felt like they were in a city like Los Angeles or New York City.”
LosAngled gives patrons and art lovers the feeling and experience of stepping into an art gallery in Los Angeles or New York but nestled among the Appalachian mountains. Leaning into that theme, “Concrete Jungle” pays homage to the iconic cityscapes that became home to artistic revolutions and fostered a creative environment bringing forth some of the best artists in the world.
“I want to provide a space comparable to galleries you would find in a larger city. West Virginia has some really great artists that deserve to be showcased in a venue like LosAngled,” says Angle. “The space offers artists the chance to hang art pieces larger than any other gallery in the city, aside from The Clay Center. The large white walls, modern metal backdrop behind a white podium styled curator desk adds to the feel of being in an art gallery in the concrete jungle.”
“Concrete Jungle” opens November 15, 2024 with a reception starting at 7:00 p.m. at 1031-A Quarrier St. Charleston, West Virginia, 25301. The reception is free and open for everyone to attend.
