Final ‘Live on the Levee’ of season signals the end of summertime in the Capital City – With Gallery

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – After the postponement of the June 26 show due to the heavy, early-summer rain, Friday night’s performance by the Charlie West All-Stars served as 2025’s final show in the “Live on the Levee” concert series. And while the evening’s headliner would deliver a lengthy, crowd-pleasing set, Charleston-based band “The Carpenter Ants” were brought in to open the show in place of Phil Collins tribute band, “Face Value.” To the delight of those in attendance, The Carpenter Ants were joined on-stage by West Virginia music legend Larry Groce.
The Carpenter Ants began the night’s performance with a song written by the legendary John Ellison, who will be inducted into the West Virginia Hall of Fame on Saturday.
