NEW ORLEANS – Sophomores Cassidy Hammonds and Cierra Parker of the Concord University women’s track & field team have earned All-Atlantic Region from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.

Both Hammonds and Parker are repeat All-Atlantic Region selections after gaining the same honor last spring.

Hammonds, the back-to-back Mountain East Conference Champion in the heptathlon, scored the second-most points in the Atlantic Region in the heptathlon as she netted 4,578 points at the 49er Classic in March. The Lee, Virginia native rolled up 4,570 points in the heptathlon at the MEC Championships to defend her title from the 2025 season. Hammonds’ point total was second in the Atlantic Region, behind Slippery Rock’s Autumn Wyatt (4,612 points).

Hammonds was also All-Atlantic Region in the pentathlon during the 2025-26 indoor season.

Parker, a native of Farmington, West Virginia, lands on the All-Atlantic Region Team for a second straight season for her performance in the high jump. She finished in a tie for fifth in the region after clearing 1.70 meters (five feet, seven inches) in the event at the Mikey Cox Distance Classic to begin the outdoor season.

Hammonds and Parker become the first two-time all-region athletes for the Concord women’s track & field program since Shawnee Carnett from 2010-14.
