Cass Scenic Railroad celebrates West Virginia Day with Parade of Steam

Take a look at the photos from Cass Scenic Railroad State Park’s seventh annual Parade of Steam in Cass, W.Va., which took place on West Virginia Day, June 20, 2026. 

Held every year since 2020, thousands of visitors and train enthusiasts gather in the small, picturesque town of Cass, home to West Virginia State Parks’ Cass Scenic Railroad, to witness the Parade of Steam. This event is part of Cass Days, running from June 19–20, and features a parade of Cass Scenic Railroad’s five steam locomotives, while onlookers watch in awe at the mechanical wonders as they go up and down the tracks.
