Concord races at Beaver County Cup

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Concord University women’s triathlon team competed at the Beaver County Cup hosted by Duquesne University Saturday.

Freshman Elexandrea Cly led the Mountain Lions for the second consecutive meet. She placed 59^th with a time of 1:13.21 for the sprint course of a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike and a 5,000-meter run. Cly clocked 11:54 in the swim, 35:18 on the bike and ran 23:50 for 5,000-meters.

Sophomore Emma Rhodes and senior Marimo Akita were back-to-back in the finishing order as they placed 78^th and 79^th. Rhodes locked 1:19:48 while Akita was 1:19:59. Akita had the fastest 5,000-meter time for CU as she clocked 21:29.

Freshman Fatima Da Silva clocked 1:42:13 to round the competitors for Concord.

The Mountain Lions race at the Conference Carolinas Championship October 4 in Wingate, North Carolina.
