Carnegie Hall announces fall 2026 ‘Wheel, Too!’ intermediate throwing clay series

Lewisburg, West Virginia – Carnegie Hall is pleased to announce its Fall 2026 Wheel, Too! Intermediate Throwing Clay course, an in‑depth ceramics series designed for students ready to expand their foundational wheel‑throwing skills. Led by regional ceramic artist Sean O’Connell, the seven‑session class meets on Thursdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and November 5 and 19, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There will be no class on November 12.

Created in response to strong community interest, this intermediate‑level series builds directly on the techniques introduced in Carnegie Hall’s beginner course. Participants will explore more advanced methods, including throwing larger forms, collaring, creating closed‑form vessels, working with throwing ribs, constructing two‑part vessels, and throwing off the hump. The class offers a supportive studio environment where students can challenge themselves, refine their craft, and enjoy progressing into new creative territory with clay.

Students enrolling in Wheel, Too! should already have basic wheel experience, including the ability to center clay, throw simple cylinders and bowls, and trim their work. With a maximum class size of eight, participants benefit from individualized instruction and ample hands‑on time at the wheel.

Tuition for the series is $225 for Carnegie Hall members and $250 for nonmembers. Scholarships are available, and adults aged 50 and over may enroll for just $95. As part of Carnegie Hall’s ongoing Classes & Workshops program, this course reflects the organization’s commitment to lifelong learning through small‑group, high‑quality instruction offered each spring and fall.
