CRW served 432,319 passengers in 2025

CHARLESTON, WV (February 25, 2026) – West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW) presented its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a year of measurable growth, disciplined financial management, and significant progress on long-term capital investment.
In 2025, CRW served 432,319 total passengers, representing an 8 percent increase in travel activity over the previous year. Aircraft operations increased by 11 percent, reflecting strength in both commercial and general aviation activity. The Airport invested $18.5 million in development and capital projects in 2025, while reducing airline costs and positioning CRW for sustainable growth in FY26. Phase 1 of the CRW Next Terminal Development Project is operational, with Phase 2 focused on pre-security and curbside improvements in progress. Phase 3 will modernize post-security spaces, completing the transformation of the passenger experience.
The airport’s federal investment leverage now approaches a 17 to 1 multiplier, translating federal funding into measurable local economic activity. Operating revenue exceeded budget by $1.8 million, and the Airport received an independent audit with no findings, underscoring its commitment to responsible financial stewardship.
In 2025, CRW successfully completed its FAA Part 139 inspection with zero findings, reinforcing the Airport’s commitment to safety and operational discipline across every department. The Airport maintained a proactive security posture throughout the year, including during periods of heightened national threat conditions.
West Virginia improved its airfare competitiveness in 2025, achieving a $74.93 reduction in average fares. Expanded low-cost carrier competition, including growth of Breeze Airways at CRW, contributed to a 12 percent decrease in average fares, improving affordability for travelers statewide, according to a recent NetCredit study. “We enter 2026 from a position of strength,” said Dominique Ranieri, Airport Director and CEOof West Virginia International Yeager Airport. “Our priority is clear – protect our core connectivity, sustain competitive air service, and position CRW for strategic growth.”
Ranieri added, “In short, 2026 is about strengthening resilience, protecting momentum, and executing with precision. CRW is not just an airport. It is an economic engine for our region and a critical piece of West Virginia’s infrastructure. What we built in 2025 positions us to deliver even more in the year ahead.”
