West Virginia youth mountain bikers ‘Rock and Roll’ all day at Cacapon State Park

By RealWV Staff,

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. – The 2024 West Virginia Interscholastic Cycling League (WVICL) peddled right along last weekend, as some 273 student-athletes showed up to “Rock and Roll” at Cacapon State Park.

The Pedalers of the Putnam County-Winfield Composite team dominated the third race of the season, “Rock and Roll at Cacapon,” with a total of 10 top-five finishes. Their strong efforts yielded first and second place finishes in the Varsity Girls Division and the JV2 Girls Division, and first place finishes in the JV1 Girls Division and the 8th Grade Girls Division.

Also delivering a solid showing were the teams from Morgantown, with eight top-five finishers; Greenbrier Valley and Kanawha River, with five top-five-finishers apiece; and Harrison County, with four top-five finishers.
