Greenbrier Valley Medical Center breaks ground on new building & welcomes new helicopter fleet
By RealWV staff,
During back-to-back ceremonies on Wednesday afternoon with distinguished guests including Sen. Jim Justice, Vandalia’s senior management, and local elected officials, CAMC’s Greenbrier Valley Medical Center made two major announcements
HealthNet H135 Airbus

First, hospital officials announced the addition of a HealthNet H135 Airbus to assist patients experiencing emergencies. “The new aircraft will enhance medical care with their larger cabins, improved weight-bearing capacity, instrument flight rules (IFR) capability for safer operation in adverse weather, and features like clamshell doors for easier patient loading,” said Mary McCloud, Physician Liaison Director for GVMC. “In addition, it will supply greater levels of critical care services while in flight with patients and generally enhance the service in our area.”

Members of the Eastern Greenbrier Middle School Knights cheer squad cheered as the ribbon was cut for the new helicopter.
New Medical Office Building

Second, hospital officials officially broke ground on GVMC’s new addition. The new 15,000+ square foot building will be a medical office building, bringing various specialists under one roof for patients. It will connect to Greenbrier Physicians and run parallel to the main road, in the area shown below. Funding came from a federal appropriation last year by Senator Shelley Moore Capito and then-Senator Joe Manchin. The new building is expected to be complete in 2027.

CAMC served members of the community refreshments to celebrate the day’s two major announcements. Representatives of local banks, businesses, schools, medical offices, and more attended the festivities.
