Front Porch Conversations: What to watch this Halloween

What do you suggest to watch for Halloween?

Welcome to our front porch!

If you missed this RealWV article, then you should take a look at it. Matthew Young takes a look at scary movies featuring West Virginians. It is a great place to start to find your next favorite movie, or rewatch a classic.

If you are in the mood for a teen-inspired classic, let’s get you started with a riddle:

What is it that has no weight, can be seen by the naked eye, and if you put it in a barrel it would make the barrel lighter?

If you already know the answer to this riddle, then you must have been a child in the ‘90s and a fan of the Nickelodeon horror television series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”

This is such a great series to watch this week, and it can bring back some old memories (or create new ones) like the “The Tale of the Phantom Cab.”

A great zombie apocalypse movie is “Shaun of the Dead.” It will have you laughing the evening away. But, don’t forget about the best zombie apocalypse movie ever “Night of the Living Dead.”

They are, in fact, coming to get you, Barbara.

For those who are in love, or want to be this Halloween, we recommend “Practical Magic.” You can’t go wrong with Sandra Bullock or Nicole Kidman.

“Children of the Corn” (1984) and “The Amityville Horror” (1979) are two great films that everyone should watch.

But, the perfect Halloween movie, at least for many of us, is the original “Halloween” (1978) featuring Jamie Lee Curtis.
