The Mountain State’s exemplary Utility Workers

As we chop through the ice of Winter Storm Fern, and wait with baited breath as Jack Frost and Mother Nature dance the Tango across the Mountain State, it’s important that we take a moment to thank all those who work tirelessly to help keep us all safe and warm.

West Virginia’s utility workers brave the kind of frigid temperatures and harrowing weather conditions that chase the rest of us right back inside. They keep the lights on and the water running, and work day and night to restore them when Old Man Winter rears his angry face. Our utility workers are our own personal weather champions, and they never fail to meet the challenge.

For facing the worst weather imaginable so we don’t have to, we are honored to name the Mountain State’s utility workers as the certified Real West Virginians of the Week.
