Rainelle Medical Center breaks ground on new facility near White Sulphur

HART’S RUN, W.Va. — On the morning of July 16th, the leaders of a new healthcare center near White Sulphur Springs broke ground on what will be Rainelle Medical Center’s new integrated healthcare facility. Aiming to open in July 2027, Rainelle Medical Center’s new location will be over 9,000 square feet and offer primary care, behavioral healthcare, diagnostic services, and will include an on-site pharmacy. “The project is for people, by people,” said Christopher Clay, the CFO of Rainelle Medical Center.

The new integrated healthcare center is West Virginia-focused from the ground up. A large part of funding for the project comes from Burke and Herbert Bank, as well as the Encova Foundation of West Virginia. The building was designed by a regional architecture company,

ZMM Architects and Engineers, and will be built by Veritas Contracting, a West Virginia-based commercial contractor. “We’re building the integrated healthcare facility with West Virginia hands,” said Clay, “We’re proud to be able to say that.”

The project has been in the works for the past five years. Searching to expand their community reach and build an office for clinician Dr. Robert Olexo, RMC had been waiting for the perfect place to become available for the healthcare center they had been envisioning. The Linkous family, who owned a plot of land just off the interstate in Hart’s Run, came to answer the call. “It took us a long time to find property. We had been looking for something in the area for many, many years, and were struggling to find something that was right for what we wanted to do,” said Clay, “We’re really thankful for the Linkous family and what they’ve enabled us to do here.”

Leaders of the project are excited to increase their services to the community, and hope that their convenient location off the interstate will help in broadening accessibility to Rainelle Medical Center’s healthcare services. “Our new location reaches a broader footprint of Greenbrier County, and even reaches over to Virginia,” remarked CFO Christopher Clay, “It could be a stepping stone for us if we ever want to expand our services across the state border.” 

Rainelle Medical Center’s new integrated healthcare facility is a community-based, community-built healthcare center. Led by a passionate team prioritizing accessible healthcare for West Virginians, the opening of their new facility next year answers a call for more quality healthcare in our region.

The facility will be located at 38461 Midland Trail East in Hart’s Run, near Interstate 64, and approaching White Sulphur Springs.
