Fourth annual ‘Kite and Stem Festival’ returns to Spruce Knob
By RealWV Staff,
CIRCLEVILLE, W.Va. – The Experience Learning “Kite and Stem Festival” is coming to Spruce Knob on June 28!
Bring your family and join the fun at Spruce Knob Mountain Center for Experience Learning’s fourth annual Spruce Knob Kite and STEM Festival. Bring a kite, buy a kite, or just watch and celebrate the sky and the wind that is a constant presence in the high plains.
During the day you will be able to fly some kites, support West Virginia based food trucks, learn from scientists, and enjoy other vendor offerings! Then move down to our iconic yurts for an evening full of more food trucks, live music, and a community campfire.
Kite flying will begin at noon and continue throughout the day. Beer garden will open at 2 p.m.
To end the day, onsite camping is available to stargaze under the amazing night sky. Primitive camping is $10 per night, with payment accepted at the welcome tent. If you’re looking for a place to stay or non-camping accommodations, nearby Yokums Vacationland and NROCKS have some great cabin options.
All proceeds from this event will support our mission to deliver high-quality outdoor programming as a tool to develop competence, confidence, and community for all people of all ages. We believe that EVERYONE should have access to high-quality outdoor opportunities, your financial donation will directly support sending kids to camp or on field trips.
Experience Learning’s wild Spruce Knob campus, which is surrounded by the Monongahela National Forest, lies at 4000 feet on the shoulder of West Virginia’s highest peak. Whether you’re coming up for the day or spending the weekend, there’s plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.
Experience Learning is dedicated to providing educational outdoor programming and events with relevant and meaningful experiences.
