Andrew Fitzgerald’s life has gone to the dogs…and he’s just fine with that! As the owner/operator of Almost Heaven Bark & Board, he spends most every day taking care of dogs from across the Greenbrier Valley. He knows every dog by name and remembers where they like to be petted and what snacks they prefer and who they get along with.

He’s tried his hand at several jobs over the years, but he’s found his true calling with dogs. Watch him with his pack for ten minutes, and you’ll see it with your own eyes. He understands them, they understand him, and everyone is happy.

Happy, happy, happy! Tails waggin’, Andrew smilin’, and dogs that may be happy to see you when you come to pick them up after a trip or just a day to doggy day care, but they honestly would like to stay a little longer. Because it’s been that much fun! Andrew has put his heart and soul into the details, making sure the dogs are comfortable while they’re with him…and they are. There’s no place like home, except Almost Heaven.

For taking such good care of our four-legged friends and reminding us all to enjoy the small moments with our canine family, we are proud to name Andrew Fitzgerald as the certified Real West Virginian of the Week!
