Nicolas Raikes
After serving honorably in the US Army, Nicolas Raikes came to a crossroads in his life. What would he do next?
A resident of Kanawha County, he wanted to remain in West Virginia to serve the Mountain State. After considering his options, he dove head first into a brand new career in small business, opening an insurance agency.
The main focus of his agency is helping senior citizens, who he says often struggle to get approved for life insurance coverage due to age, health conditions, etc.
In a short amount of time, he’s developed a reputation for treating people kindly and providing effective service.
A friend nominated him saying, “The thing that I believe makes Nicholas special is his drive to help educate people and to always have their best interest at heart. He goes above and beyond to make sure he puts people in a better position than when he met them.”
“He’s the type of person who worries that he didn’t do enough when in reality he already did more than most would ever do.”
Nicolas and his girlfriend, Torri, live in Kanawha County with their son, Rayne.
For his desire to remain in West Virginia serving his community, even when it meant learning a new career path, we are proud to name Nicolas Raikes as the certified Real West Virginian of the Week.
