CHARLESTON, W.Va. – GoMart Ballpark – home of the Southern Division Champion Charleston Dirty Birds – on Saturday, played host to the team’s official “2025 Season Kick Off Party.”
The free community event featured an infield filled with inflatable bounce-houses and slides, mini golf, and ticket giveaways. The celebration also marked the first day that single-game tickets were available for purchase.
Last month, the Dirty Birds released their full 2025 regular season schedule. This was then followed by the release of the team’s promotional schedule last Tuesday.

During the 2025 season, all 13 Saturday home games will feature a post-game fireworks display, along with more than 20 “specialty” nights. Thursday, June 12, and Thursday, July 3 will also include post-game fireworks. July 3 will serve as the regions first Independence Day fireworks show.
A fan giveaway will be held during every Friday home game. Replica jerseys, Hawaiian shirts, and beach towels will be among the prizes available.
Specialty promotional nights will include Healthcare Heroes Night on May 6, Teacher Appreciation Night presented by ZMM Architects & Engineers on May 31, Pride Night presented by Element Federal Credit Union on June 12, Women Making a Difference Night on July 26, Dusty’s Birthday Celebration on July 27, African American Heritage Night on August 12 and Celebration of Labor on August 31. 2025 marks the Dirty Birds’ 20th season at GoMart Ballpark. The team’s first home game of the season will be Friday, May 2 against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a 20th anniversary commemorative coin.

Before the season gets underway, the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, Baseball America, and IndyBall Jobs will team team together to host Atlantic League Pro Days player tryouts, at Truist Point – home of the High Point Rockers – in High Point, North Carolina. This two-day event will take place on Tuesday, April 8, and Wednesday, April 9.
The event is designed to attract top quality players with professional experience, especially those recently released from MLB clubs. Player registrants will be pre-screened to ensure quality, with preference offered to players with qualifying MLB, Atlantic League, MiLB and MLB Partner League experience. Each Atlantic League member team, including the Dirty Birds, will make a contract offer to at least one player participating in the tryouts.
And on Saturday, April 19, the Dirty Birds will hold their second annual Home Run Derby at GoMart Ballpark.
