Ben Salango

For the third consecutive year, Charleston attorney Ben Salango has partnered with GoMart Ballpark and the Charleston Dirty Birds to “Light the Night” for the holiday season in West Virginia’s Capital City. 

As a founding sponsor of “Light the Night,” West Virginia’s preeminent family holiday light spectacular, Salango has helped spread Christmas cheer to the hundreds-of-thousands of people who have attended. And with the event kicking-off its 2025 season tonight at GoMart Ballpark, Salango is poised to spread the cheer even further. 

But beyond his deep holiday commitment to the Charleston-community, Salango is the husband of Judge Tera Salango, a father, a Kanawha County Commissioner, and former West Virginia Gubernatorial candidate.  Salango is also a tireless advocate for abuse and malpractice victims, and has helped countless individuals reclaim their pride and quality of life. 

For helping to make the season just a little bit brighter, we are happy to name Ben Salango as the certified Real West Virginian of the Week.
