Strawberry festival returns to Alderson
PRESS RELEASE

If it is Memorial Day Weekend, there will be strawberries in Alderson! The annual Strawberry Festival in the Town of Alderson, organized by Alderson Main Street and their great volunteers, will be held on Saturday, May 23 from 10-4. All things strawberry can be found including vendors and food trucks, kids activities, cars and motorcycles, and opportunities to tour the Historic 1896 C&O Depot.
Music will be almost constant with Second Block Rock, the Greenbrier East High School group, kicking off the festival from 10-12 noon and Group Therapy picking up the theme from 1 to 3 pm. Alderson Main Street will be serving their signature strawberry lemonade and Sunset Berry Farm will have fresh from the farm strawberries for sale.
Local restaurants such as the Big Wheel and Fruits of Labor will offer a chance to sit down and relax with some of their great food before visiting more activities. Sam’s Vintage Tools and the Artisans Gallery will be open with local finds and art.
Once you have sampled all the Town has to offer, head up Flat Mountain and visit the source of the strawberries at Sunset Berry Farm and Adventure Park. More excitement awaits!
Business sponsors for this year’s event include Alderson Funeral Services, City National Bank, and Hugh Harris Insurance Agency.
Don Sutherland, President of Alderson Main Street, said, “We are looking forward to a great day! Please come see us and all that Alderson has to offer.”
