Mobile mammography unit offers convenient care throughout June

Vandalia Health Charleston Area Medical Center’s Medicine in Motion initiative includes a sophisticated fleet of mobile medical units designed to break down the barriers of geography and transportation – bringing essential care directly to people who need it.

Screening mammograms are one of the best tools for detecting breast cancer in its earliest stages. The CAMC Mobile Mammo Unit will offer convenient, walk-in mammogram screenings to the public. All times are 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., unless noted:

June 8 – West Side Family Dollar, 1600 Washington St., Charleston

June 9 – Vandalia Health – Buckhannon Medical Care, 11 N Locust St.

June 10 – Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital, 115 Summers Hospital Road, Hinton

June 11 – Coalfield Health Center, 386 Airport Road, Chapmanville

June 13 – Celebrate Princeton Street Fair, 869 Mercer Street

June 15 – Flatwoods Outlet Mall, 73 Skidmore Lane, Sutton

June 16 – Vandalia Health Primary Care – Summersville, 702 Professional Park Dr.

June 17 – CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, 202 Maplewood Ave., 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

CAMC’s Mobile Mammography Unit provides a fast, easy and confidential way for individuals to receive a screening, which is an important step in early breast cancer detection. This community-focused event is open to the public. No appointment is necessary.

You may be eligible for a mammogram if you are a woman aged 40 and older, have not had a mammogram in the last 365 days, are not pregnant or breastfeeding and are not experiencing breast issues such as lumps, discharge or pain, you are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for early detection of breast cancer.

The CAMC Mobile Medical Fleet is staffed by experts and equipped with the same state-of-the-art digital imaging technology as you would get at a CAMC imaging facility for quick, convenient and accurate screenings.
